(1 Timothy 4:13, Psalm 119;10-11, Hebrews 10:25)
I sat down to write this article and I thought alright, here we go! I felt like I was clicking on all cylinders, (Whatever that means)
It was beautiful, It was touching and all the words were just flowing from my fingertips. I had my first two pages completed and was starting on the third and final page. Easy Peasy!
But, as it turns out, either God has a really interesting sense of humor or perhaps I hadn’t quite finished learning the lesson I was trying to teach.
While writing this article on God is in control over all circumstances and over all grievous setbacks my computer decided to update. It shut down without my permission and didn’t save a single word I had typed!
Now here’s where the rubber meets the road. I got the chance to live out what I believed.
Oh, I didn’t like it. Not one little bit. But I stepped away from the computer, calmed down and said, God let me write what you want me to write, Not what looks good or makes me feel good but what will be beneficial to those who read it.
And that is how I want to live my life! Not what looks good or makes me feel important but a life that will benefit others. Because we have all had setbacks and losses and times when we didn’t know how to put one foot in front of the other. But with God’s help we can make something beautiful even in the midst of something we would never have chosen for ourselves.
I feel like I need to add a p.s.
I found the God is in Control list in Mark’s notebook about 3 weeks after his accident. (Most of the scripture references are mine.) I don’t know when he wrote it or where he got it from but it was like God’s private message to me for such a time as this.
